Paul Vousden
Children’s book author
Paul is the father of two grown-up children and two young grandchildren, aged 11 and 7. His grandchildren persuaded him to get three chickens, which he keeps in his large garden. The chickens bring so much joy to the young ones that Paul was inspired to write Tales from the Chicken Coop. The stories open up a charming world for young children where a flock of 10 chickens, led by Mabel, who has superpowers, have exciting times solving mysteries.
Paul is passionate about saving our planet and is creating a new series of books for older readers (8-12 years old) called Planet Protectors Squad. It is about four young people from various parts of the world who come together to respond to emergencies caused by climate change. These are exciting, action-packed stories that deal with the issues created by global warming. Rooted in science, they provide education as well as entertainment.
Paul was an accomplished copywriter for many years, and he says. “Writing for children is so much fun and beats preparing press releases for industrial products” .
A Love of Storytelling
Paul believes that children's stories should do more than simply fill the pages. They should invite young readers to wonder, explore, ask questions, and imagine what might happen next.
From farmyard adventures to mysterious discoveries, his stories bring familiar ideas to life through engaging characters and colourful illustrations. Each book is designed to create an enjoyable reading experience that children can share with parents, family members, and friends.
